In the past few years, hybrid cloud computing was on the rise and it still is. Mixing up various cloud services, big players in the field like IBM, Google, Amazon and Microsoft offered hybrid cloud solutions for both companies and individuals.

These services range from testing and deploying apps to big data storage and analysis.

Since this field is constantly developing, we have put together a list of services that we expect to be improved and made available through hybrid cloud solutions in the year of 2017.

Big Data Analysis

During the past few years or even decades, companies have gathered terabytes upon terabytes of data, regarding both business processes and customers. The value of this data is incredibly important for business growth and building better customer relations and business have been made aware of that.

This is why we already have access to various big data analysis services offered through hybrid cloud solutions. For instance, Google offers managed data warehouse for large-scale data analytics with BigQuery. On the other hand, in order to use this service, businesses will either have to hire IT experts or outsource to a reliable partner.

BYOD – Increased productivity and Reduced Costs

With the access to hybrid cloud computing, bring your own device (BYOD) trend is being widely adopted in small- and medium-sized businesses.

Instead of investing in new hardware and buying expensive enterprise software, businesses can now simply pay for a cloud service and provide login credentials to their employees who can complete assigned tasks on the device of their choice. Security is no longer a problem, since it is managed by the cloud service provider.

In 2017, we can expect further improvements and user interface simplifications of existing services, along with new services made available according to the rising needs of the B2B market.

Internet of Things

Did you know that there are more “things” connected to the Internet than people?

Internet of things is considered as new business revolution. Hybrid cloud is what empowers the companies to gather the data from all those devices and analyze it. Smart devices and sensors are put in place to get data that was impossible to acquire before – machine maintenance, opinions about products and services and customer behaviors.

Getting all of this data in the hybrid cloud business can provide actionable analytic insights. The revolutionary aspect is that businesses now know what actual steps to take in order to improve efficiency, productivity and ROI. According to current developments in the field, we can expect further sensor and other device integration, so that companies can gather more accurate data.

As you can see, the developments in this field follow the trends in the markets worldwide and the latest IT achievements. Since there are many providers of hybrid cloud services, companies don’t necessarily have to use the services of one company, as sometimes combining several providers is a better solution.

The projects tell us that the global cloud market will reach almost 150 US dollars this year. As this happens, we can safely assume that the cloud costs won’t grow.
