The winners of the Irish Magazine Awards 2016 were announced (Thursday 1 December) at a glittering, black tie ceremony at Dublin City Hall.
Veteran magazine publisher Stephen Quinn was presented with the Magazines Ireland Lifetime Achievement Award for 2016. The lifetime achievement award is given to individuals who have made contributions of outstanding significance in publishing. Stephen has had an illustrious career spanning nearly five decades. Starting off as a Sales Executive on Thompson regional newspapers, he went on to work on the launch of Over 21. Quinn moved to Harpers & Queen in 1976, becoming Publisher in 1981.In 1988, seeing a gap in the men’s magazine market, Quinn went onto launch British GQ. In 1991, Stephen took over the fashion bible, Vogue where he has been Publishing Director for a quarter of a century. Stephen attended the ceremony with his wife Kimberly.
