Freedom FM is a Dublin based digital radio station licenced by CNaM to provide content on the Comreg licenced DAB+ radio network across Leinster.
DAB+ (Digital Audio Broadcasting Plus) is an upgraded digital radio technology that provides better audio quality, more stations, and extra information compared to traditional FM radio and the original DAB standard.
There are currently circa 30 radio stations broadcasting on DAB+ across Leinster now. Freedom FM plays music from the 90s and 00s and delivers up to 30k listeners a month in the Gen Y category.
Since most radio listening in Ireland happens in cars – and a 2021 European regulation requires all vehicles to be equipped with DAB radios – this presents an ideal opportunity to offer advertisers a new platform to use at lower costs than traditional analogue transmissions.
