The Offaly Independent, distributed free every Friday, is the most widely read paper in the County and can deliver the largest verified audience and market penetration of any media. First published in 1846, the Offaly Independent used to be a paid for title but has retained its in-depth news, sport, and entertainment coverage as a free newspaper and consistently punches above its weight amongst the other print titles in the marketplace.

Distribution

The Offaly Independent currently distributes to over 400 retail outlets countywide, with over 11,000 copies per week. These towns include, Birr, Cloghan, Moate, Banagher, Ferbane, Clara, Edenderry and Tullamore.
